Heralded by ICG President Torsten Rasch as "The best International Children's Games ever!", the 7th International Children's Winter Games came to a close. We have returned home and we all should be proud of our athletes who not only exceeded ours and their own expectations but also represented Waterloo and Canada exceptionally well. Not only did we reinforce the strong reputation Canadians have all over the globe but we came home with a Gold and Silver Medal!

Jakub Smal and Bridget Le Donne took home the gold medal in figure skating ice dance with 2 brilliant performances.

Dylan Leidl teamed up with a young girl from Cleveland, USA and a young boy from Barcelona, Spain to take home the silver medal in the speed skating Mixed Delegation Team Race. This event is exactly what the International Children's Games is about, mixing athletes together, boys, girls, countries with some members not even speaking the same language.
